MY JOURNEY IN A FEW WORDS…

I first discovered sculpture in 1995, it  has not let me go.

Passion is my guide and still leads my steps today …    It is in this spirit that I started with a degree in Sciences Politics in Bordeaux, a career in management responsibility and then continued years later with a degree in art history in Lille. Several lives in one … and sculpture as its high point.

Over the years, I have discovered numerous materials and I always enjoy  discovering new ones as well as deepening the techniques of sculpture.

Marble came quite early in my discovery of carving and I learned about this universe by going to work from time to time in the Corsanini workshop in Italy, at Carrara in the late 90s. It was an exceptional place where sculptors from all countries crossed paths ! So, I met Vasco Montechi, Kazuto Kuetani, the Corsanini family …

However, clay remains my favorite material, the one with which I work first because of its plasticity and malleability that make it a great creative material.

And then bronze … it’s immensely satisfying, it allows me to play with light, to choose rich and nuanced “patinas” that I like to work directly at the foundry.

At the end of 2011 I went  for the first time to Japan and spent one month in an artist residency at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. Rich, dense, this stay opened me to other techniques, other approaches and had especially allowed me the discovery in situ of a culture that has deeply marked all my work since my beginnings.

Since 2016, my universe has been enriched by the creation of works on paper, inks, linocuts, watercolors … An extension of my world in sculpture.
